Both Nicholas and Margaret Brooke are Fellows of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), which is headquartered in London but which has members in over 120 countries worldwide. Nicholas is also a Past President of the Institution, having been the first overseas based President during the year 2003/4.

RICS, which is a qualification based body, is the largest professional organization of its type having over 120,000 members working in the areas of property consultancy, surveying, construction, development, valuation and property/real estate agency.

RICS members are governed by a strict code of practice and are required to undertake ongoing study to ensure that their knowledge and expertise remains up to date and relevant in a changing world.
